I love to do presentations for schools, in-person or virtually!

As an author and illustrator (as well as a public school art teacher for 23+ years) I use humor, visuals, and student participation to help kids understand what goes into making books, while also inspiring them to creatively tell stories of their own.

I can present to large groups, classrooms or grade levels. While I typically speak to elementary age students, I also can gear presentations toward older students or adults, with more focus on specific topics.

I have spoken at dozens of schools, as well as given talks at many libraries and venues such as the Gaithersburg Book Festival, the Chesapeake Children’s Book Festival, the Writer’s Center and the Library of Congress.

Please contact me for information regarding availability and fees. I am located in Rockville, MD and do the bulk of my talks in the DC and Baltimore metro areas, but I can also arrange to travel farther.
